Lori is eagerly looking forward to attending her artist residency at Château d'Orquevaux next year. It's an opportunity, an enriching experience, allowing Lori to immerse herself in the French culture and draw inspiration from the stunning surroundings.

"I can't wait to explore new ideas, experiment with my art, and connect with fellow artists in such a beautiful setting"

Biography

Canadian artist Lori draws inspiration from her inner voice and the profound connections shared among individuals.

As a self-taught intuitive artist, she has honed her skills through dedicated research and immersive workshops, cultivating a lifelong love for painting.

Lori currently resides in the picturesque waterfront town of Ridgeway, Ontario, a setting that inspires her artistic spirit. Here, she frequently retreats to her home studio, where she immerses herself in the creative process, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the tranquil sounds of the water. This serene environment fuels her passion for painting, allowing her to explore her artistic vision fully.

My passion for creative expression took root in my early years. From a young age, I was enchanted by the artistic process, and this fascination blossomed into a lifelong dedication to painting. As an intuitive painter, I am guided by my deep connection to the spaces and people around me, as well as my desire to convey compassion for all living beings. When I paint, I set out on a journey to tell a story.”

Deeply attuned to the workings of her heart and mind, Lori chooses not to confine herself to a single form or style of expression. She embraces a diverse range of styles and techniques, choosing instead to explore multiple avenues of expression.

Lori’s creative journey is marked by a spirit of experimentation, where she explores various mediums and methods, blending them to discover new expressions. This openness allows her to continually evolve as an artist.

“Whether I use my fingers, a brush or a palette knife, it’s the powerful intuitive impulse that inspires me, allowing emotion to flow freely onto the canvas.”

Lori’s artwork has gained international recognition, appearing in numerous interior and design publications, exhibitions and galleries around the globe. Her distinctive style and emotive expressions resonate with audiences, making her pieces sought after for both, residential and commercial spaces.

Each feature not only highlights her artistic vision but also emphasizes her ability to transform environments, bringing beauty and inspiration to an array of diverse environments.

“I feel compelled to convey my truth through my art by making each piece with integrity and soulfulness. The pull of creative expression guides my personal connection to spaces, people around me and my desire to show compassion for all living things. When I paint, I embark on a journey which usually begins with a strong vision in my mind’s eye and my soul that I have a need to express.

These emotions guide me through the process and I don’t stop working on a piece until it evokes a memory; something that tells me the story is finished and I am ready to move on. What drives me are the strong impulses I feel, and being present as the emotions come pouring out. Whether I am painting an abstract composition, skyscape, cityscape or waterscape, I tap into what inspires me at the moment. Sometimes ideas have come from my dreams. Most often, the focus is the pull of all earth’s elements and the inherent drama and tension between colour and light. I love and live to paint and try to infuse each piece with grit and graceful movement. I am humbled and grateful daily for the opportunity to share my visual stories and connect with people.”
